My Work as seen by an Art Curator

Here is a brief version of the full review made by Contemporary Art Curator Magazine to my work on the Fine art Nude. For full details of this analysis, please check the link below
Jorge Parra’s photographic work unfolds as a profound exploration of visual alchemy, intertwining philosophy and symbolism to elevate the human body into a realm of spirituality and visual poetry. Once a chemist, Parra gracefully abandoned the confines of science and tbasic research to become an artist, blending analog photographic techniques with contemporary digital post-production. This fusion is vividly realized in his ‘Body Alchemy’ series, where the tangible meets the ethereal in a dance of transformation.

His art is deeply centered on the female nude, not as mere form but as a celebration of femininity, strength, and inner harmony. Drawing from his long-standing practice of Tai Chi and yoga, Parra portrays the body as an evolving spiritual entity—an interplay of movement, balance, and transcendence. Through the integration of sacred geometry and ancient symbols like the Vesica Piscis, he invites viewers to perceive the human form as part of a universal narrative, rich with archetypes and timeless meaning.

In series such as ‘Bodyspace’ and ‘Aqua Angels,’ Parra extends this dialogue between body and nature, crafting poetic images where flesh melts into earth, water, or fire—elements that mirror the transformative vitality inherent in life itself. His work deftly bridges the analog and digital, weaving philosophy with aesthetics, and carries a profound feminist undertone, borne from deep respect and collaboration with his models.

Ultimately, Parra’s art transcends physical representation, beckoning us to look inward, to meditate on the processes of transformation and connection. Like the alchemists of old who sought to turn base metals into gold, his photographs urge us to discover the golden essence within ourselves and the world around us.
